A giant billboard of a Chinese industrial company rises above the Potala Palace in the distance and castes a shadow on the thousands of Tibetans that filled the streets as they made their rounds of the city to celebrate Saka Dawa on June 10, a day marking the birth of Buddha Shakyamuni.
